
Brendan Ch’ng, PhD
Researcher & Educator
Dr. Brendan Ch’ng (he/him) is currently affiliated with the School of Education at Sunway University in Malaysia. He received his PhD in educational psychology from University of Malaya in Malaysia where he has dedicated his research journey to investigating the underlying mechanisms that support the psychological well-being of individuals with sensory-processing sensitivity.
Brendan’s academic background is a unique blend that makes it both intriguing and fascinating, with an undergraduate degree majoring in psychology and international studies complemented by a master’s in gifted education. His research interests broadly encompass areas of environmental sensitivity, well-being, gifted education, and higher education.
He looks forward to continuing his research in the realm of academia and hopes to enhance representation from Southeast Asia in psychological and educational research with Malaysia’s rich tapestry of ethnic and cultural diversity.
Additionally, Brendan is currently serving as a council member under the Malaysian Psychological Association (PSIMA: 61700051). He is also the current vice-chairperson for the Malaysia Educational Psychology Society (MEPS: FM23002) and an executive committee member of ABRIR (Advancing Big-team Reproducible Science through Increased Representation).
